High School: Steffens played two years of varsity soccer at Casa Roble High School, where she also played basketball. She was a four-year starter as a goalkeeper and received 2014 all-conference honors. During the 2013 season, she was ranked as the number one goalkeepers in Capital Valley League with a GAA of .549. She played club soccer for Cap FC United 95. She led her team to an undefeated league season, only giving up three goals in 10 games, with 21 shutouts in 59 games for the overall season. Her team placed in seven out of 12 tournaments. She has medical assisting and first aid certifications, and she is a certified CPR Para Professional.
Personal: Rebekah is the daughter of Howard and Lisa Steffens. Her hobbies include going to the movies, shopping with friends, working out, working with younger goalkeepers, volunteering for kids' camps, refereeing, traveling, and spending breaks working with short term missions. Her career goal is to become a PICU Nurse.
Reason for coming to Simpson: "I chose Simpson because it is a Christian university with a great nursing program that is invested in missions across the globe. My older sister went to Simpson and had a great experience."
