College: de Hoop is entering her third season playing for the Red Hawks. She was on the Dean's List during the spring 2013, fall 2014, and spring 2014 semesters. She won the Newcomer of the Year Award in 2012 and the Coaches Award in 2013.

High School: de Hoop played three years of varsity soccer at Henley High School, where she also played basketball. She earned varsity letters in basketball and soccer and was a four-time scholar-athlete. Her basketball team won the 4A Basketball State Championship in 2012, which is her favorite athletic accomplishment. She graduated with an honors diploma. She played club soccer for the Klamath Basin United.

Personal: Marijke is the daughter of Arjen and Christina de Hoop. Her hobbies include playing sports, running, boating, music, coloring, adventuring and spending time with family and friends. Her career goal is to go into elementary education.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I chose Simpson because I want to grow in my relationship with God as well as my education while playing soccer."
