College: Determan is entering her third season playing for the Red Hawks. Her academic accomplishments include being on the Dean’s List.

High School: Determan played four years of varsity softball at Granite Bay High School. She was named Chick-fil-A Player of the Week as a freshman and received all-league honors as a sophomore. She received the Best Defensive Player of the Year Award her freshman and sophomore years and honorable mention league honors her junior and senior years. She played club softball for the California Comets and All American Mizuno.

Personal: Chasteena is the daughter of Candy and Greg Determan. Her hobbies include baking cookies, listening to music, shopping, and hanging out with friends. Her career goal is to become a CPA and small business owner.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I chose Simpson University because I loved the small school atmosphere; since I went to a large high school I thought it would be nice to get the chance to know everyone I go to school with. I also really liked the softball team and the small class sizes for more individual attention."
