College: Donovan is a transfer from Shasta College, where she was a member of the Dean's List.

High School: Donovan attended the Academy of Personalized Learning and played two years of varsity volleyball at Liberty Christian High School. She was MVP and her team was the North State Division 6 Runner-Up in 2012. She holds the assists single-season record and the assists per set single-season record at Liberty Christian. She was valedictorian and earned the 4.0 Excellence Award. Her other academic achievements include Superintendent's Honor Roll, Student of the Semester, Rotary Student Choice, and Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Member honors. She played club volleyball for North State Volleyball Academy.

Personal: Katelyn is the daughter of Louis and Kimberly Donovan. Besides playing volleyball, she enjoys spending time with family and friends or doing something active (like dirt biking, skiing, cycling, swimming, hiking, camping, yoga, or working out at the gym). She also likes to relax and watch movies. She loves food, so she enjoys preparing and eating a healthy meal/snack. Her career goal is to become a nutritionist.

Reason for coming to Simpson: "I chose Simpson because not only did I want to earn my degree at a university, but I also wanted to improve my relationship with Jesus Christ and remain close to my family and friends. I felt that Simpson University could help me grow as a Christian and offer me a great education at the same time."
